Apply to Join the 2025 Global Gathering

Everyone is welcome to apply to attend the Global Gathering (GG) which brings together individuals from 144+ countries for three days of community building and networking around issues related to digital rights, Internet Freedom and online security.

The idyllic outdoor venue in Estoril, Portugal allows for rejuvenation, allowing participants to relax and build important collaborations while enjoying the sun, good food, and fun evening activities. Additionally, the event’s celebrated safety and security measures allows for authentic trust building across regions and disciplines. This year we are increasing our capacity to 1,500+ participants.

Application Process

After you submit your application, it will go through a vetting/verification process to be pre-approved. Please give us several weeks to review your application.

If your application is pre-approved, you will receive an email notification as well as information on how to pay for your ticket (or claim your free ticket).

Your application will be fully approved and your ticket will be issued once payment has been received.

Only individuals whose application has been fully approved will receive a ticket to attend the Global Gathering, so we encourage those interested to apply as soon as possible.

• Apply for the 2025 Global Gathering

  The Global Gathering (GG) will take place on September 8, 9, and 10 in Estoril, Portugal. The event is meant to provide digital rights defenders and their allies a space to network, share knowledge, collectively brainstorm, and, most importantly, rejuvenate. Event activities will focus on enhancing networking and collaborative discussions, including meetups, workshops, and project showcases. Anyone is welcome to apply, regardless of their country or origin, language, or background. The only requirement is that they are actively working in digital rights, internet freedom, or protecting their communities from digital attacks and oppression.
